Hello and welcome

One of my most popular recent posts on Instagram @homefarm.kitchen was this photograph of me holding a small celebration cake. And since this is my first blog post I thought maybe this would be a good place to start. So this is me....

...Bec, now in my 40's (gulp). As well as my current job running this relatively new business I am a busy mummy to 4 fantastic boys and a wife to a loving, practical husband. As a trained chef I have always worked in the food industry - I love food and everything that goes with it - family gatherings, cooking for friends, eating out, cooking outdoors and wine!


I am a 'do-er' infact I rarely stop. I love gardening, art and real seasons. I am a real country girl at heart - walking & running in the woods and on the hills is my favourite thing to do; alone or with my family. And I absolutely hate being on this side of the camera! The above shot took rather a few takes and I still wasn't 100% happy with it. It was a bit of a spare-of-the-moment kind of shot and I only posted it becasue photos like these are very few and far between and I know my Instagram followers like to see the odd photo of the person behind Home Farm Kitchen.


Funnily enough, when I was little I would spend hours pretending I was a Blue Peter presenter giving cooking lessons to my viewers! I'm not so keen on TV work now, but I would love to teach and I would love to one day write a cookery book - so what better way to start than share a few recipes on here. So please watch this space....
