Let’s Talk Eco

With the recent ‘Earth Day‘, it got me thinking about my responsibility as a small business owner. I know I am far from perfect, but I am conscious of the environment and its impact on my childrens generation.

With this in mind I thought I'd share a few ways I try to be a bit more eco-friendly.

  1. All of the cake boxes I use are cardboard and therefore recyclable.

  2. I use biodegradable piping bags.

  3. The 'celeophane' wrap I use for my cake samples is compostable.

  4. Food waste is kept to a miniumum.

  5. I buy most of my dry ingredients from a local wholesaler, eggs from my local butcher and local butter from my milkman. Any packaging is always recycled or reused where possible avoiding as much plastic as is possible.

Thanks for reading,

Bec

Featured above are my afternoon tea boxes in fully compostable boxes. The jam & clotted cream are in compostable pots and they come with a bambo knife & paper napkin (if required). They are tied with raffia.
