How to book a wedding cake with Home Farm Kitchen

  1. First things first! Budget & Style!! Wedding cakes vary in style & price hugely!! Please take a look at my website first to see if my style of wedding cake & starting prices fit in with your requirements & budget. Then at least we can start off on the right foot..

  2. Get in touch - The fist thing I will need to know is the date of your wedding and the venue. I can then tell you if I have availability.

  3. If I have availabilty then the next best step is for you to order a wedding cake sample box which I offer for £35. I make my wedding cake tasting boxes on the first Thursday of every month. You can choose up to 4 different flavours of cake to try. Once ordered they will be available to collect from me or I can send them to you using a next-day-delivery courier for an extra £5, if you prefer. The £35 will be deducted from any wedding cake order over £240.

  4. Once you have tried the cake samples we can arrange a time for a telephone/video call where we can talk through your requirements. I will need to know the following details: your numbers of guests; whether you will be serving the cake as a dessert or as a smaller slice to go with coffee/champagne; your colour scheme if any; your ideas/thoughts/inspiration etc; and your budget. I will then advise what size of cake will suit your requirements and we can chat about design.

  5. After our chat, I will draw up a few designs for you to choose from and send you my terms & conditions. My aim is to create your dream wedding cake so if it's not quite right & needs a little tweaking or if you want to combine feature from a couple of my designs then we can chat further.

  6. I will also send you my terms & conditions - these are not scary so hopefully they wont put you off!

  7. Once you are happy with one of my designs I will ask you to sign a copy of the order form and pay a non-refundable deposit of £100 as instructed in the terms. This deposit will secure your date.

  8. Payment in full is required 1 month prior to the wedding.

  9. On your wedding day I will arrive with your cake and decorate it in situ. I will leave an alleregen advice note with a member of staff at the venue or with the cake.

  10. I am happy to supply you with a cake stand if you require one and I have various styles available. I do ask for a holding deposit of £50, which I will repay once the stand is returned to me within 5 days of the wedding.
