my ethos
More than just cake!
By choosing Home Farm Kitchen, you’re not only receiving a beautiful cake that tastes as good as it looks, you are also supporting a small business that values seasonality and sustainability to make a positive impact on our environment.

From sourcing ingredients carefully, to buying eco-friendly products, minimising the use of single use plastics and more, I am conscious of my environmental impact.
Below are the key aspects of my sustainability policy.
Locally sourced ingredients
I prioritise seasonal, locally sourced ingredients including free range eggs, real butter, Shipton Mill Flour and British sugar in all of my cakes. This reduces transportation emissions and supports local agriculture. It is also the reason my cakes taste SO good!
Ethical sourcing
Where it is not possible to buy local, for example chocolate and vanilla, I opt to support businesses who not only make the best products, but who also follow ethical practices, ensuring fair wages for workers.
Minimising waste
I aim to reduce waste by using ingredients efficiently, repurposing leftovers where possible and composting what I can. I avoid unnecessary cake excess by baking to order.
Eco friendly packaging
I source reusable, recyclable and compostable packaging where available. I minimise the use of single use plastics and choose sustainable alternatives where possible. This can be quite a challenge at times!
Support for ethical suppliers
I prioritise working with suppliers who share my sustainability practises, who adhere to ethical practises and minimise their environmental impact, producing goods with integrity.
Energy efficient practices
I continuously evaluate and implement energy saving techniques in my kitchen to reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
